Voiding Your Printer’s Warranty
Many people worry that if they purchase a compatible inkjet cartridge that messes up and ruins
the printer as well, they will void the manufacturer warranty on their printer. This leads people
to fear using these cheaper and more reasonable options. You need to know the truth about how an
inkjet cartridge and printer actually works to understand why this should not be a problem.
People used to falsely believe that an inkjet cartridge would only last for one use. However,
they are now seeing that they can last for another 4-5 uses and buying a compatible cartridge
is a great way to extend the life of your existing cartridge.
The printer works because the print head and the circuitry do most of the work on the printer.
Typical inkjet printers are designed so that the print head is not permanently installed in the
printer. Instead, they are on the inkjet cartridge itself. This is why a generic or "no-name"
inkjet cartridge will not ruin your printer. For it to be able to ruin it, the print head would
have to be on the printer itself and typically it is on the cartridge and consists on 48 to 320
jets or nozzles on the bottom of the cartridge.
Knowing this key fact will show you not only how you do not have to fear about damaging your
printer but also that using refills or compatible inkjet cartridges can actually extend the life
of your printer cartridge and save you money from constantly buying expensive replacements.
